Doha, February 14: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani patronized the closing ceremony of the HH the Amir Sword Equestrian Festival at the Al Rayyan turf track of the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club on Saturday. The ceremony was attended by a number of Their Excellencies Sheikhs, ministers, horse owners and equestrian enthusiasts.

During the event, HH the Amir crowned the winners and presented the Golden Sword to HE Sheikh Hamad bin Tamim Al-Thani, HE Sheikh Jassim bin Tamim Al-Thani and HE Sheikh Joaan bin Abdullah bin Khalifa Al-Thani on behalf of Wathnan Racing, winners of the Group 1 Purebred Arabian race. He also awarded the Silver Sword to Ali bin Hamad Al Attiya for Al Wasmiyah Farm and honored other winners across Thoroughbred and Arabian race categories.

His Highness further presented trophies to top performers in showjumping, dressage and the Al Sabiq Heritage Championship. The closing ceremony also featured the final races of the Purebred Arabian-Cross Horses Competition and the main race for His Highness’ Golden Sword for Purebred Arabian Horses, marking a grand conclusion to the prestigious festival.
