The Israeli army has announced the implementation of “local tactical pauses in military activities” in specific areas of Gaza to facilitate humanitarian aid. Beginning today, the pauses will be observed daily from 10am to 8pm in al-Mawasi, Deir el-Balah, and parts of Gaza City.
In
a statement posted on its official X account, the Israeli military said the
decision was made “for humanitarian purposes” and would remain in effect “every
day until further notice.” The move is aimed at allowing the safe passage of
humanitarian assistance and the movement of civilians in affected areas.
According
to the statement, the decision was made in coordination with the United Nations
and other international organizations, following ongoing discussions regarding
the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
While the announcement has been welcomed by aid groups, many stress that sustained and safe access to all parts of Gaza remains critical, as the humanitarian crisis continues to deepen amidst ongoing hostilities.
