Husband of journalist Sreedevi Joy,
who had served as a Malayala Manorama correspondent in Qatar

Chemmanathurakara Joy Mathew (48), native of Vaikam, in Kottayam district,
tragically lost his life in a road accident on Qatar’s Dukhan highway in the
early hours of Tuesday. A long-time resident of Qatar, Joy had been working in
the event management sector for the past 13 years. He was on his way back from Shahania
for work when the car he was traveling in collided with the rear of a truck
around 3 am. The accident occurred near Dukhan Road, and despite efforts, his
life could not be saved.
He
was the son of Mathew and Thankamma Mathew. His mortal remains are currently
kept at the Hamad Medical Corporation Hospital mortuary in the Industrial Area.
The body will be repatriated to Kerala soon after completing the necessary
formalities, coordinated by the Qatar KMCC Al Ihsan Committee.
