Awqaf ministry inaugurates new mosque in Maamoura

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf), through its Mosques Department, has officially opened the Sheikh Abdullah bin Thani bin Jassim Al-Thani and Sheikha Sheikha bint Khalid bin Ahmed Al Ahmad Al-Thani Mosque in Maamoura. Endowed by Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah bin Thani bin Jassim Al-Thani in honor of his late parents, the mosque symbolizes lasting faith and community service.


As part of the Ministry's strategic plan to expand Qatar's mosque network in line with the National Vision 2030, the mosque addresses population growth and urban development needs. Covering 1,933 square meters, it accommodates 891 worshippers, with 841 in the men's prayer hall and 50 in the women's area. Designed for functionality and accessibility, it includes a spacious ablution area, public parking with spaces for people with disabilities, and clearly marked entrances and exits. A prominent minaret enhances its architectural presence in the neighborhood.
