Doha, Qatar: A series of powerful explosions rocked Tehran early Friday as Israeli fighter jets launched a sweeping offensive targeting key Iranian military and nuclear sites. The Israeli military confirmed that six military bases and multiple nuclear facilities were struck in and around the Iranian capital. The attack, believed to be one of the most extensive in recent years, has escalated tensions dramatically in the already volatile region.

According to Iran's Tasnim News Agency, the strikes resulted in significant casualties, including the death of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Chief Hossein Salami. Two prominent nuclear scientists, Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi and Fereydoun Abbasi, were also reported killed. Additionally, Nour News reported that Ali Shamkhani, a senior adviser to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, sustained critical injuries during the assault.

Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), confirmed that the Natanz nuclear site was among the targets. “The Agency is in contact with Iranian authorities regarding radiation levels and has reached out to its inspectors in the country,” Grossi said. The international community is closely monitoring the unfolding situation, with fears mounting over potential retaliatory measures and broader regional conflict
