QPO to present premiere of Dana Alfardan's latest work 'Tempest' on May 2

Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra is set to unveil Dana Alfardan's latest composition, "Tempest," in a grand premiere on May 2, 2025, at 7:30 PM at the Katara Cultural Village Opera House. Under the baton of conductor Giovanni Pasini, who also holds the role of Principal Viola player at QPO, this performance is anticipated to guide audiences through a profound musical journey.

Inspired by the powerful imagery of water and storms, "Tempest" explores themes of resilience, personal growth, and self-discovery. The concert will showcase Taufik Mirkhan on qanun, Ibrahim Kadar on ney, and vocalists Ranine Chaar, Mansour Al Mohannadi, Aura Ananda, and Aga Krzyzanowska, with the Aljabilat Band adding Khalleeji percussion.

The event will also feature the song "Canto della Tonnara: Cialoma," a tribute to the tradition of tuna fishing.
