CBSE cancels Class 12 board exams in Middle East countries

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has cancelled all Class 12 board examinations scheduled between March 16 and April 10, 2026, for students studying in CBSE-affiliated schools across several Middle East countries. The decision was announced in an official circular issued on March 15.

The cancellation applies to students appearing for the exams in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. CBSE said the decision was taken after reviewing the feasibility of conducting the examinations in these countries, based on inputs received from schools and local authorities.

The board also confirmed that the examinations previously postponed through circulars issued on March 1, March 3, March 5, March 7, and March 9, 2026, have now been officially cancelled.

CBSE further stated that the mode of declaration of results for Class 12 candidates in these countries will be announced later. The circular was issued by Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller of Examinations, and copies were sent to Indian embassies in the affected countries and CBSE regional authorities in Dubai.
