Doha, Qatar: Hamad International Airport (HIA) has officially opened two additional concourses, D and E. The completion of this expansion project, which started in 2018, is a major milestone in the airport's development. 

This new addition significantly marks an important milestone in the airports’s expansion and raising its capacity to accommodate over 65 million passengers yearly. 

At a press conference, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Eng. Bad Mohammed Al Meer, highlighted the significance of the expansion, stating, "The expansion of the D and E Concourses is a significant milestone that enhances passenger experience. It is a testimony to the country's ambition, as the project, which began in 2018, has elevated the airport's capabilities."
