Doha, Qatar: Qatar's tourism sector has welcomed over 1.5 million international visitors from January to March 2025, driven by a strategic tourism plan that includes high-profile events, strategic partnerships, and a variety of destination experiences.
Visitors from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries made up 36% of the total, followed by Europe at 28%, and Asia and Oceania at 20%, highlighting Qatar's rising appeal across diverse markets. A well-executed access strategy saw 51% of tourists arriving by air, 34% by land, and 15% by sea.
Eid Al Fitr 2025 marked a significant peak, with 214,000 visitors during the eight-day celebration, the highest in three years and a 26% increase from 2024. Notably, GCC visitors accounted for 49% of the total, an 18% rise year-on-year, while hotel occupancy reached 77%, up 10% from the previous year.
