Doha, Qatar – The Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) will mark this year’s Labour Day with “Rang Tarang 2025,” a cultural celebration dedicated to the Indian labor community in Qatar. Scheduled for Friday, May 9, 2025, from 4 pm to 10 pm at the Asian Town parking area in the Industrial Area, the event will honor 20 long-serving, low-income employees who have each dedicated over 30 years of service in Qatar. These individuals will be recognized for their outstanding contributions to the nation’s growth and development.
Established under the patronage of the Indian Embassy
in 1984, ICBF has been a cornerstone in supporting the Indian diaspora in
Qatar, especially low-income workers. The organization has continuously
provided support in areas such as healthcare, legal aid, welfare, repatriation,
insurance, and community outreach programs. Notable initiatives include the
ICBF Insurance scheme, jail visit assistance, youth welfare programs, and
campaigns promoting awareness and domestic worker welfare.
“Rang Tarang 2025” will feature cultural performances
by associate organizations of ICBF and various Indian cultural groups in Qatar.
The celebration will be attended by Indian Ambassador to Qatar His Excellency
Mr. Vipul as the chief guest, along with officials from the Indian Embassy, the
Ministries of Interior, Labor, and Health, and representatives from the
International Labour Organization (ILO) and the National Human Rights Committee
(NHRC), among other dignitaries.
ICBF officials, including President Mr. Shanavas Bava, Vice President Mr. Rasheed Ahamed, General Secretary Mr. Deepak Shetty, and other committee heads, announced the event details at a press meet held at the ICBF Kanjani Hall. They emphasized the importance of recognizing the dedication and hard work of the Indian labor force and extended an open invitation to the public to join in this vibrant celebration of unity, gratitude, and cultural pride.
