ICC Carnival 2025: A grand celebration of India’s cultural unity in Qatar

Doha: The Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), in association with the Embassy of India, proudly announces the much-anticipated 'ICC Carnival 2025 – Celebrate India Together".  This two-day cultural extravaganza will take place on Thursday and Friday, 15th and 16th May 2025, from 4 PM to 10 PM at the Ideal Indian School. Highlighting the event will be a live musical concert by the renowned Anoop Shankar and his team, promising an electrifying evening of music, entertainment, and community spirit.

With an expected daily footfall of over 20,000 visitors, ICC Carnival 2025 is poised to be one of the largest cultural celebrations of the year. The event aims to deepen Indo-Qatar friendship and strengthen the bond among the Indian expatriate community through a vibrant showcase of India's rich and diverse traditions. It will bring together people from various walks of life to celebrate India's heritage, art, music, and unity.

The carnival will feature a series of colorful cultural performances, including a Live Orchestra, the traditional Chenda Melam from Kerala, and dynamic Group Dances by talented performers from ICC-associated organizations, Indian schools, and cultural institutions. A unique highlight will be a spectacular Fusion Dance blending Kerala’s Thiruvathira and Gujarat’s Garba (Dandiya), symbolizing the beautiful unity of Indian traditions. Cultural pavilions representing different Indian states and a special pavilion for Social Service Schemes of India will offer visitors a truly immersive experience.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, a bustling bazaar will showcase Indian handicrafts, traditional garments, jewelry, and a wide variety of Indian delicacies at the dedicated Food Court. In a significant milestone, the ICC will also unveil its new logo and launch the ICC Mobile App and ICC Privilege Card during the carnival, marking a new chapter in its journey of serving the Indian community in Qatar.

The announcement was made during a press meet attended by key ICC officials, including AP Manikantan (ICC President), P N Babu Rajan (Advisory Council Chairman), Shantanu Deshpande (Vice President), Abraham K Joseph (General Secretary), Pradeep Pillai (Secretary), Biswajit Banerji (Head of Finance), Nandini Abbagouni (Head of Cultural Activities), Rakesh Wagh (Head of HR, Admin & Consular), Ravindra Prasad (Head of Affiliation), Sandeep Sriramareddy (Head of IT & Social Media), Anu Sharma (Head of Educational Activities), and Venkappa Bhagavatula (Head of In-house). Their collective efforts reflect the vibrant spirit and unity of the Indian community, ensuring that ICC Carnival 2025 will be a truly memorable celebration.
