MoCI announces fines of up to QR1 million for company violations

Doha: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has warned that companies found violating commercial regulations could face fines reaching as high as QR1 million.

In an official clarification, the ministry stated that strict penalties will be imposed on businesses that fail to comply with legal requirements. In certain cases, additional daily fines may be applied if violations continue without corrective action.

MoCI explained that enforcement procedures include notifying companies of breaches and providing an opportunity to rectify issues within a specified period. However, failure to address violations may result in heavier penalties under the law.

The ministry said the measures are aimed at strengthening regulatory compliance, protecting consumer rights and ensuring fair competition within the market.

Authorities urged companies to review their operations and ensure full adherence to existing regulations to avoid legal consequences.
