Doha: The Civil Defence Council has confirmed that
there are currently no signs of air or marine pollution affecting Qatar.
Officials said the environmental situation in the country remains normal and
under close observation.
The update came after the council reviewed a
report presented by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change on the
overall environmental condition across the country. According to the report,
monitoring results have not shown any indication of pollution in the air or the
surrounding waters.
The matter was discussed during a meeting of the
Civil Defence Council chaired by Major General Mohammed Jassim Al-Sulaiti,
Director-General of Public Security and Deputy Chairman of the council.
During the meeting, officials also reviewed the
preparedness of different sectors and the measures taken to deal with any
possible emergency situations.
Authorities said that environmental monitoring
activities are continuing across the country and that relevant departments
remain ready to respond if any unusual changes are detected.
