Qatar Airways has launched 'Gaming in the Sky,' a pioneering e-sports competition held onboard a commercial aircraft. This historic event, powered by next-generation Starlink connectivity, took place on May 11, 2025, during a flight from Doha to London.

The tournament featured a global lineup of top gaming and entertainment personalities, including stars like Tue, Castro1021, Lisa Zimouche, and many more, with Oussifooty hosting the event. The competition transformed the skies into a competitive gaming arena at 35,000 feet, as Team Burgundy Oryx faced off against Team Grey Aviators in a friendly mid-air showdown.

Enabled by Starlink's ultra-fast, low-latency internet, the players enjoyed uninterrupted gameplay and live updates streamed through Qatar Airways' social media channels, captivating fans worldwide.

This event marks a new milestone in the convergence of aviation, entertainment, and technology, coinciding with Qatar Airways' strategic upgrades to its Boeing 777 fleet and the introduction of the world's first Airbus A350 equipped with Starlink.
