Qatar soars to ninth Place in Quality of Life Index 2025

Doha, Qatar: Qatar has made significant strides in the latest Quality of Life Index 2025, ranking ninth out of 88 countries, a remarkable jump from its previous 18th position in 2024. With a score of 193.3, Qatar has improved substantially from the 165.9 recorded last year, surpassing many regional competitors and even developed nations.

The Quality of Life Index, compiled by Numbeo, assesses the overall living conditions within various countries and cities, taking into account factors such as purchasing power, pollution, housing affordability, cost of living, safety, healthcare quality, commute times, and climate conditions. A higher score on the index signifies a better quality of life, derived from extensive data and user surveys reflecting visitors' experiences.

In the context of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, Oman holds the fourth spot in the index, while the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia are tied for 20th place, both scoring 177. Kuwait follows in 34th place with a score of 160.6.

Notably, Qatar's ranking places it ahead of several well-established countries, including Sweden, Austria, New Zealand, Australia, Germany, and the United States, which occupy the 10th to 15th positions respectively.

Luxembourg leads the Quality of Life Index with an impressive score of 220.1, followed by the Netherlands at 211.3 and Denmark at 209.9, maintaining their top positions from the previous year.
