On May 12, 2025, Sheikha Asma Al Thani proudly announced her successful ascent of Makalu, the world's fifth-highest peak at 8,485 meters (27,838 feet).
This achievement marks her eighth summit of an 8000er, bringing her closer to her ambitious goal of conquering all 14 of these towering peaks.
Previously, Sheikha Asma made history by completing the Explorers Grand Slam, becoming the first Arab woman and Qatari to achieve this prestigious milestone.
