Amir and UAE President discuss strengthening ties and regional peace efforts

Doha, Qatar: In a meeting held at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday, the Amir of Qatar, HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, and the President of the United Arab Emirates, HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the fraternal relations between their nations. The leaders discussed strategies to enhance collaboration across various fields and addressed pressing regional developments.


At the meeting's commencement, HH the Amir expressed his pleasure at hosting the UAE President, highlighting the visit as a testament to the strong ties between the two countries. HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed reiterated the UAE's unwavering support for Qatar's sovereignty and territorial integrity, condemning recent violations by external forces.


The discussions also covered the Israeli attack, which was described as a breach of international laws and a threat to regional peace. HH the Amir expressed gratitude for the UAE's solidarity and support.


Both leaders exchanged views on international matters of mutual interest, particularly the ongoing negotiations for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. They underscored the importance of dialogue and diplomatic solutions to resolve regional crises and enhance global security.


The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials from both nations, including HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, among others. Following the talks, HH the Amir hosted a luncheon in honor of the UAE delegation.
