Doha: Safari, the leading hypermarket group in Qatar, has unveiled a unique promotion titled “1980: A Southern Nostalgia – Travancore Food Festival.” The inauguration ceremony took place on Wednesday, September 10, at 11:00 AM in the Bakery & Hot Food section of Safari Mall, Abu Hamour. Safari Group Chairman Mr. Hamad Dafar Al Ahbabi and Safari Group Deputy Chairman & Managing Director Mr. Zainul Abideen jointly inaugurated the event in the presence of senior Safari officials.
The Travancore Food Festival offers customers a feast of traditional delicacies that bring alive the authentic flavors of southern India, especially those reminiscent of the 1980s. The entire setting has been carefully crafted to recreate the atmosphere of that nostalgic era, complete with vintage-style decorations and staff dressed in costumes reflecting the time period—capturing the attention of shoppers and food enthusiasts alike.
A wide range of homely and mouthwatering dishes are being freshly prepared at the Safari Bakery & Hot Food section, including chicken fry, angadi kizhi, fried squid, mutton curry, Vizhinjam chicken fry, southern-style chicken biryani, Killippalam chicken fry, chicken liver roast, grilled fish, and many more specialties.
