New Delhi/Doha: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, on Wednesday, expressing India’s strong condemnation of the recent Israeli airstrikes in Doha.
During
the discussion, PM Modi conveyed his “deep concern” over the attacks that
targeted areas housing foreign embassies and schools, leading to the deaths of
six people. He emphasized that such actions constitute a violation of Qatar’s
sovereignty and called for urgent de-escalation in the region.
Reaffirming
India’s position, Modi underlined that disputes must be resolved through
dialogue and diplomacy rather than violence. “India stands firmly with the
State of Qatar in support of peace, stability, and against terrorism in all its
forms and manifestations,” the Prime Minister stated in a post on X.
The call comes amid heightened tensions following the Israeli strikes in Doha, which have drawn widespread international criticism.
