‘Just like I got India, Pakistan…’: Trump says Israel-Iran ‘will make a deal’

US President Donald Trump has claimed that peace between Israel and Iran is possible and suggested that behind-the-scenes negotiations are already in motion. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump stated, “Iran and Israel should make a deal, and will make a deal,” asserting that many calls and meetings are currently taking place, though he offered no specifics.

Trump likened the situation to his alleged role in easing tensions between India and Pakistan, claiming he used trade diplomacy to facilitate peace talks. He also cited past international interventions in hotspots such as Serbia-Kosovo and the Nile water dispute between Egypt and Ethiopia, crediting his leadership for maintaining temporary peace in those regions.

The former president criticized current US President Joe Biden for damaging long-term diplomatic prospects and vowed to “fix it again.” Concluding his post with a familiar rallying cry, Trump wrote: “Make the Middle East Great Again,” while lamenting that he rarely receives recognition for his diplomatic efforts.
