Doha, Qatar: LuLu Hypermarket Qatar, in
partnership with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), has launched the
‘National Product Week’ campaign under the slogan From Us, For Us. The
initiative, which runs across all LuLu stores in the country until March 1,
aims to boost the visibility of Qatari-made products and support local
businesses. The campaign was officially inaugurated by H.E. Saleh bin Majid
Al-Khulaifi, Assistant Undersecretary for Industrial Affairs and Business
Development at MoCI, alongside Dr. Mohamed Althaf, Director of LuLu Group, and
other distinguished guests, including ministry officials and senior executives
from LuLu Hypermarket.
The week-long event highlights Qatar’s rich cultural heritage by showcasing a diverse range of locally produced food and non-food items. Products on display include fresh vegetables, herbs, poultry, dairy, frozen foods, baked goods, groceries, and health and beauty items. Speaking at the event, H.E. Al-Khulaifi praised LuLu Hypermarket for its continuous efforts in supporting local industries, noting that more than 500 Qatari products have been white-labeled by LuLu as part of its commitment to national production. He also emphasized the significance of this initiative ahead of Ramadan, a period of heightened consumer demand.
Dr. Mohamed Althaf highlighted LuLu’s long-standing dedication to promoting Qatari products, stating that while National Product Week is usually held in December, the decision to host it in February aligns perfectly with the upcoming Ramadan shopping season. He also announced that this year’s campaign would be extended for two months, allowing greater exposure for local brands. In addition to featuring renowned Qatari brands such as Baladna, Dandy, Pearla, Al Maha, QFM, and Agrico Qatar, LuLu also showcases over 300 products under its own private label, all produced in Qatar.
To further incentivize shoppers, LuLu Hypermarket has introduced the Shop & Win promotion, running from February 23 to March 24, 2025. Customers who purchase Qatari products worth QAR 25 or more from the supermarket section will receive an e-raffle coupon for a chance to win LuLu gift vouchers totaling QAR 100,000. The lucky draw, scheduled for March 26 at LuLu Hypermarket on D-Ring Road, will reward 20 winners with vouchers worth QAR 5,000 each. This initiative not only encourages consumer support for local goods but also strengthens the connection between Qatari producers and the public.
