Doha: Qatar’s Ministry of Labour has urged
employers across the country to ensure that workplaces remain safe and secure
for all workers. The ministry reminded companies of their responsibility to
protect employees and take the necessary precautions to reduce risks at work
sites.
Officials advised employers to clearly identify
safe areas inside workplaces and guide workers on how to respond during
emergency situations. Companies were also asked to make sure that proper safety
procedures are in place and that employees are aware of them.
The ministry suggested that businesses consider
flexible work arrangements when possible. This may include remote work,
adjusting working hours, or organizing shifts to reduce the number of workers
present at the same time.
Authorities also stressed that workers’
accommodation must follow safety standards. Employers should ensure emergency
exits remain accessible, provide first-aid supplies, and make sure trained
staff are available to respond if an emergency occurs.
