Doha, Qatar: The Community Sports Meet organised by Expats SportEv, in connection with Qatar National Sports Day, began in a colourful and energetic manner at the Aspire Zone Warm Up Track and Field, drawing wide participation and enthusiastic crowds. The event was organised with the approval of the Qatar Sports for All Federation (QSFA) under the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and witnessed the participation of around 750 athletes competing in athletics and various games.

A
major highlight of the opening ceremony was the vibrant march past, featuring
participating athletes and supporting groups, accompanied by cultural
performances including Oppana, Kolkali, Chenda Melam, still-life displays, and martial arts,
reflecting the rich cultural diversity of India and Qatar. Indian Embassy First Secretary
Harish Pandey took the salute during the march past.
Sportspersons residing in Qatar who have represented India in international tournaments
and won medals were also honoured on the occasion.
The event was attended by several dignitaries and
community leaders, including Abdul Azeez Al Muhannadi of the Community Police Department, Muhammad Nasser Al Kaldi,
Head of the Conservation of Energy Efficiency Section at Kahramaa, ISC President E.P. Abdurrahman,
ICC General Secretary Abraham
Joseph, ICBF General Secretary Deepak Shetty, ISC General Secretary Hamza
Yousuf, Pravasi Welfare State President R. Chandra Mohan, CIC President R.S. Abdul Jaleel,
Incas Advisory Board Chairman
Haider Chunkathara, and Indian community leaders K.V. Boban and Ravindra Prasad.
Also present were Satish, Finance Director of Al Ajjaj, Abdul Salam,
Operations Manager of Auto Fast Track, Shafeeq, Marketing Manager of Riyada Medical Center, Anwar Hussain,
CEO of Radio Malayalam, Hashim KL,
Managing Director of Bradma, Siyad Usman, General Manager of Almufta Rent a Car, and Jazeel Matail,
Executive Director of Al Aqsa Printing Press.
Representing the organising body, Expats SportEv President Abdul
Ghafoor A.R, Community Sports Meet General Convener Ahmed Shafi, and Youth Forum President Aslam Thoufeeq
were present. During the ceremony, flags were officially received by Expats SportEv Ladies Team
Captain Latha Krishna, Juniors Captain Thahseen Ameen, SportEv General Secretary Maqbool Ahmed,
and Organising Committee Member Kajan
Johnson, formally marking the commencement of the multi-sport
meet.
