Tehran: Iran has confirmed that indirect talks between Iranian and US officials held in Oman have concluded, following weeks of escalating tensions and growing concerns over a possible military confrontation between the two countries.
In
a statement, Iran’s Foreign Ministry said the discussions were conducted
through intermediaries and described the talks as part of ongoing diplomatic
efforts to manage differences and reduce tensions between Tehran and
Washington.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the continuation and future direction of the talks will depend on consultations taking place in various capitals, signalling that further diplomatic engagement remains possible despite the current pause.
