Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has introduced a national electronic qualifying examination for general dentists, aimed at enhancing the quality of healthcare services and aligning licensing standards with international benchmarks.
This
new initiative ensures that dental professionals meet high competency levels
before entering the workforce. The 3.5-hour exam includes 150 multiple-choice
questions, with a minimum passing score of 60%, and serves as a key requirement
for obtaining a dental practice licence in Qatar.
The
exam is delivered electronically through the Prometric platform, allowing
candidates up to five attempts without time restrictions, offering greater
flexibility in preparation and self-assessment. It reflects MoPH’s commitment
to adopting advanced systems in evaluating professional qualifications.
The updated exam content incorporates recent scientific advancements and modern dental practices. The new policies also introduce strict evaluation procedures for academic credentials and experience, reinforcing Qatar’s goal of becoming a regional hub for healthcare excellence.
