Qatar unveils nationwide Ramadan Programme under ‘Qatar, Your Home in Ramadan’ campaign

Doha, Qatar: Qatar Calendar has announced extensive preparations to welcome the Holy Month of Ramadan, unveiling a nationwide programme of events spanning heritage, culture, sports and family entertainment. Presented by Visit Qatar, the calendar reflects the spiritual character of Ramadan while offering residents and visitors diverse experiences across the country.

Dubbed “Qatar, Your Home in Ramadan”, the initiative forms part of Visit Qatar’s ongoing destination strategy aimed at supporting year-round tourism while maintaining strong cultural authenticity and community engagement during the Holy Month.

Among the highlights is Ramadaniyat Heenat Salma, an immersive experience rooted in nature, culture and community, featuring farm workshops, artisan installations, live performances, Ramadan talks, Qur’an recitations and wellness sessions under open skies. The popular Throwback Food Festival also returns for its third edition at Old Doha Port, revisiting culinary themes from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.

Leading the season’s signature gatherings are Barahat Ramadan Nights and Layali Msheireb at Msheireb Downtown Doha, blending contemporary architecture with traditional ambience to create distinctive iftar and suhoor experiences alongside cultural activities. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs is organising the “Noor Ramadan Lectures” at Katara Cultural Village, offering a series of religious talks throughout the month.

Celebrating Qatari heritage, Darb Al Saai will host the Al Razji Event, highlighting traditional crafts, attire and folk chants. Garangao Night festivities will take place across multiple venues including Souq Waqif, The Pearl Island, Gewan Island and Old Doha Port. The port will also feature Musaher Al Mina, the Iftar Cannon and “Farewell to Ramadan” activities.

Shopping experiences will include the Hayyi Ramadan Trade Fair at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre, The Pearl Ramadan Bazaar, Lagoona Mall Ramadan Nights, and the outdoor Bazaar at Museum of Islamic Art park. The Ramadan Shopping Fair 2026 at Al Wakrah Old Souq, running until February 27, will offer essential provisions for the Holy Month in a heritage-inspired waterfront setting.

Qatar’s sporting calendar remains vibrant during Ramadan, featuring the Qatar ExxonMobil Open, the QSF 2 PSA Satellite “Senior” (1K) Squash Tournament, and prestigious equestrian events such as CHI Al Shaqab presented by Longines, the Longines Global Champions Tour and the Al Shaqab Cup. Lusail International Circuit will host Toyota GR Yaris Qatar Season 2, while team sports include the Doha International Basketball Tournament for National Teams and the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 qualifiers. Additional competitions such as the Ekbes Ramadan Beach Volleyball Tournament, The Pearl Island Ramadan Football and Padel Tournaments, and The North Challenge – Ramadan Edition will further energise the season.

Cultural institutions will also continue their exhibition programmes. The National Museum of Qatar and Qatar Preparatory School will host “Countryside: A Place to Live, Not to Leave”, while the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum presents “Esports: A Game Changer”. Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art marks its 15th anniversary with “Resolutions: Celebrating 15 Years of Mathaf” and showcases “Water’s Witness” by Tarek Atoui. The Museum of Islamic Art will feature “Empire of Light: Visions and Voices of Afghanistan”, while the Fire Station hosts “Ho Tzu Nyen: Hotel Aporia” and “Haroon Mirza: Everything Was, Is and Always Will Be”.
