Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has
reminded vehicle owners in Qatar that using private vehicles for any purpose
other than those specified in the vehicle registration permit constitutes a
traffic violation.
In
a social media post, the ministry stated that operating private vehicles for
unauthorised purposes, including using them as taxis, is illegal and may expose
vehicle owners to legal liability.
The
MoI cited Article (5/57) of the Traffic Law, which clearly stipulates that
motor vehicles must not be used, or permitted to be used, for purposes other
than those mentioned in their registration permits.
The ministry added that these regulations are aimed at ensuring road safety, maintaining public order, and regulating transport activities across the country.
