Doha, Qatar: Qatar’s Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has called on worshippers in the country to perform the Eclipse Prayer, Salat al-Khusuf, in mosques after the Isha prayer, in the event of the lunar eclipse. 

The ministry emphasized that the prayer is a confirmed Sunnah, with its timing extending from the start of the eclipse until it concludes.

The ministry announced in a statement on Saturday, that Qatar is expected to experience a total lunar eclipse on Sunday, September 7, 2025 (15 Rabi' al-Awwal 1447 AH), beginning at 8:30 p.m. and lasting for one hour and 22 minutes.

The ministry encouraged worshippers to engage in the eclipse prayer, citing the Prophet's (peace be upon him) tradition of praying during solar and lunar eclipses.
