Doha: Qatar will witness a spectacular total lunar eclipse, known as the “Blood Moon,” on Sunday, September 7, 2025. According to Qatar Calendar House, all phases of the eclipse will be visible across the country, weather permitting.
The celestial event begins with the partial eclipse at 7:27 pm, total eclipse at 8:31 pm, and reaches its peak red glow at 9:12 pm. The Moon will remain in full eclipse until 9:53 pm, with the partial phase ending at 10:56 pm. In total, the phenomenon will last 3 hours and 29 minutes.
A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes through Earth’s shadow, turning red due to the scattering of sunlight in the atmosphere. Unlike solar eclipses, it is completely safe to watch with the naked eye, though binoculars or telescopes can enhance the view.
