Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Football Association (QFA)
has announced that entry will be free for fans attending the upcoming friendly
match between Qatar and Russia on September 7. The highly anticipated clash
will take place at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 6:15pm
Doha time.
In a social media post, QFA welcomed supporters with the message: “Welcome, to Jassim bin Hamad Stadium. Entry is free, #AlAnnabi waiting for you.” The invitation highlights QFA’s commitment to boosting fan support as the national team intensifies its preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Asian play-offs.
As part of their build-up, Qatar recently faced Bahrain in a friendly encounter on Wednesday, which ended in a 2-2 draw. Unlike the Russia match, that game was held behind closed doors, giving the squad a chance to fine-tune tactics away from the public eye.
Qatar have been drawn into Group A of the Asian
play-offs and will host two decisive fixtures in October. Al Annabi will take
on Oman on October 8, followed by a key match against the United Arab Emirates
on October 14, both at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.
