Hyson Haider Haji, founder of Family Food Center and MES Indian School, passes away


Doha, Qatar: Hyson Haider Haji, a prominent industrialist and founder of Qatar Family Food Center, passed away in Doha at the age of 90.

A well-known figure in Qatar’s business, social, cultural, and educational spheres for over four and a half decades, he was instrumental in launching several key establishments including MES Indian School, Family Food Center, Hyson Hotel Kozhikode, and Hyson Motors.

Hyson Haider Haji was also actively involved in community organizations. He served as a member of the first advisory committee of Qatar Incas, and played a leading role in organizations such as the Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) and the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC).

A native of Thozhiyur, Kunnamkulam in Thrissur, Kerala, he was predeceased by his wife, Jameela. He is survived by his children Faisal, Jamal, Anwar, Ashiq, and Nasima Ashraf, all residing in Qatar.

The funeral and burial will take place in Qatar this evening.
