Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Autism Society officially launched its Early Intervention Program for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder at the Ali bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena in Al Sadd Sports Club. The launch event was attended by H E Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, Minister of Social Development and Family, along with officials, partners, and families of children supported by the society.
This
pioneering initiative aims to provide specialized services that enhance the
motor, cognitive, and behavioral development of children with autism. Targeting
children aged 3 to 14, the program offers individualized support across four
key areas: behavior modification, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and
special education, in a comprehensive training and therapeutic setting.
In its first phase, the program will accommodate 120 children, with Qatari nationals comprising about 40% of participants. Managed by the Qatar Autism Society, the program includes qualified staff, well-equipped facilities, and essential training tools. Future expansion is planned based on capacity and demand.
