Doha: Qatar has once again secured its place among the world’s safest nations, ranking third in the Numbeo Safety Index by Country 2025 Mid-Year. With an impressive safety score of 84.6, Qatar is recognized for its exceptionally low crime rates and high safety standards among 148 countries included in the survey. This achievement reflects the nation’s ongoing efforts to ensure a secure environment for all residents and visitors.
The
Safety Index, calculated by Numbeo, assesses several factors including crime
rates, public perceptions of safety, and the likelihood of incidents such as
home break-ins, vehicle thefts, and physical attacks. Qatar consistently
recorded minimal concerns in these areas, further emphasizing the country’s
reputation as a safe and welcoming destination. Residents benefit from a high
sense of security both during the day and at night, with public spaces deemed
safe for families, women, and children.
Qatar’s standing also highlights the broader
safety profile of the Gulf region, with the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Saudi
Arabia, and Bahrain also appearing in the top 15. In the previous year, Qatar
ranked second globally in safety, just behind the UAE. The strong regional
presence underscores the Gulf's commitment to public security and
infrastructure that supports safe urban living.
In addition to its safety accolades, Qatar ranked 16th out of 89 countries in Numbeo’s Quality of Life Index by Country 2025 Mid-Year, scoring 189.4. This index evaluates various aspects of daily life such as cost of living, healthcare, pollution, climate, and commute times. Qatar’s performance indicates a high standard of living, with scores surpassing those of many regional and international peers.
